| WYOMING: It would seem natural to predict a big drop-off for the Cowboys, who lose the most prominent player in program history in QB Josh Allen. Thing is, Allen's entire supporting cast was so young (and bad) that there's really nowhere to go but up as that group matures. Even if the Cowboys offense can't figure it out, a defense headlined by everywhere-at-once safety Andrew Wingard figures to carry the team to a bowl game once again. | | NEW MEXICO ST: Despite winning their first bowl in 57 years, head coach Doug Martin's Aggies still have something to prove in 2018 after getting the boot from the Sun Belt. Now an Independent, NMSU has winnable games on its schedule and a defense that will keep it in almost every contest. The primary challenge comes on offense, where the Aggies must replace quarterback Tyler Rogers and RB Larry Rose III, who led the team in rushing and was second in receiving last season. |
