| UCF: The Knights could not have had a worse season last year, as their 0-12 record included a loss to an FCS team. With former Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost taking over as head coach, UCF will go from a pro-style offense to the fast-paced, no-huddle spread with which Oregon has enjoyed success in recent seasons. Frost brought in Erik Chinander, who had been linebackers coach at Oregon, to run a 3-4 scheme as defensive coordinator. | | E CAROLINA: The Pirates found themselves a new head coach this offseason, hiring former Duke offensive coordinator Scottie Montgomery. His first order of business is to balance the discrepancy between the pass (35th in nation) and run game (112th in nation). Tennessee transfer RB Derrell Scott is expected to be the guy to get the run game going for East Carolina.
